F.A.Q.

Q: ARE ANGLICANS “CATHOLICS”?

No, we are not Roman Catholics, we are evangelicals, a church of the English Reformation. When the Creeds refer to the "catholic" church, it means a church which is universal and varied.

Q: Are you part of the Anglican Church of Canada?

No. We are Anglicans, and in full communion with the majority of the Anglican communion, but we are not part of the Anglican Church of Canada.

Q. Do you believe the Bible?

Yes. "Holy Scripture contains all things necessary to salvation: so that whatsoever is not read therein, nor be proved thereby, is not to be required of any person, that it should be believed as an article of the Faith, or be thought requisite or necessary to salvation." The Bible is "God's word written." (From Article 6 and 20 of the Thirty Nine Articles)

Q. Do you believe that faith in Jesus is the only way to God?

Yes. "We are accounted righteous before God, only for the merit of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ by faith, and not for our own works or deservings..." "For holy Scripture clearly sets out for us that it is only by the name of Jesus that people must be saved." (From Article 11 and 18 of the Thirty Nine Articles)

Q. Do you believe Jesus died, rose from death and will return?

Yes. "Christ did truly rise again from death, and took again His body, with flesh, bones and all things necessary to be fully man, and as fully man ascended into Heaven, and there sits, until He returns to judge all human beings at the last day." "And He shall come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead, and His Kingdom shall have no end." (From Article  of the Thirty Nine Articles and the Nicene Creed)
