Growing in Grace

I need to develop godly attitudes.

A) Pray for godly attitudes in general & certain attitudes in particular.

B) Ask others to pray the same thing for you.

C) Repeat the attitude to help it sink in. Do this in conjunction with A & B!

Attitudes.

1. The Triune God can never be tamed and can never do evil.

2. You do not have to wait until you have figured things out to pray - pray to the Lord out of your incoherence and pain.

3. It is easy to make excuses and shift blame. It is hard to honestly accept responsibility for your actions.

I need to grow in prayer.

A great way to do this is to learn to pray the Bible. Pray this prayer until you can pray without reading:

A Prayer Based on Lamentations 3:25-27

Lord God Almighty, You are good to those who wait for You with a seeking heart; or seek You with a quiet, waiting heart. Grip me afresh with the good news of the salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ, that by the Holy Spirit I will seek You and wait for You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I need to get God’s word in my mind and heart.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)
