ABOUT SECURE HOME
At Church of the Messiah, we want to do what God wills for us. We want to be prepared to be surprised by God. We will work out plans and processes, but we know that God has a plan for us and that us praying is absolutely key to obtaining the property that God has in mind for us. We are mindful of Psalm 127, “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain.” We do not know whether we will rent for a short time or a long time. We do know, that in an urban context, eventually owning some property can be a great aid to gospel ministry. We do not want to seek property for property’s sake nor do we want to avoid owning property. Whether we rent or own, we are committed to finding property which serves God by bringing Him glory and by furthering gospel ministry. We believe we are called to a city wide ministry in the urban core. We express our mission as, “helping ordinary people be confident, joyful disciples of Jesus Christ.” We express our vision as, “building a prayerful, Bible-teaching evangelical church in the heart of the city with a heart for the city (and the world). We are open to buying a traditional church building. We are also open to buying non-traditional space.
