The Reverend Canon George Sinclair - RECTOR

George studied at the undergraduate and graduate level at Carleton University where he received a degree in Sociology with a minor in Philosophy. He studied Theology and Pastoral Counselling at St. Paul University where he completed an MA in Pastoral Studies.

George was ordained in 1985. For 22 years he served in the Anglican Church of Canada (ACoC). In 2008 his church was the second church in the country to separate from the ACoC and join the Anglican Network in Canada (ANiC). George has served in a suburban and in a rural “multi-point” church.

George is blessed to have been married to Louise since 1981. They have 9 children and lots of sons and daughters-in-law and grandchildren

The Reverend Major Shaun Turner - Honourary Assistant

Shaun was ordained an Anglican priest in 2003 and is presently a Chaplain in the Canadian Armed Forces.  He moved to ANiC and Church of the Messiah in November 2017, previously holding ministry in the ACC Diocese of Algoma before joining the Forces.  Shaun has a mission to help others realize the Spiritual Reformation God has for them in Jesus.  He is presently a Doctoral Candidate at Tyndale Seminary in Spiritual Formation and has served operational tours in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake and with Task Force Afghanistan.

Shaun is married to Amy, a visual and recording artist, and has four school-aged children.  His home is not a quiet place.


DANIEL Avitan - Church planter

Daniel grew up in Southern Ontario, before coming to Ottawa in 2006 for university. He has served in Christian ministry for many years and has a strong desire to see that people are well cared for spiritually and personally know the love of God through Jesus the Messiah. Daniel is married to Christine. They have two young children.



For nearly a decade, Matt has been covering National News in Ottawa, as a photojournalist. In 2017, he began feeling called by the Lord to leave photojournalism, and enter into full-time ministry. While also continuing in commercial photography, he is currently studying at Ryle Seminary and has an ever growing passion to see people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

Matt is married to Amy, and in his spare time enjoys all things nature related, rock climbing, travelling and reading.


The RevEREND Jonathan Camiré - Honorary Assistant

Jonathan Camiré is passionate about discipleship, preaching, hospitality, and encouraging people to see their lives in God's plan and purposes. An ordained deacon with ANiC and graduate of Ryle Seminary, he is currently waiting on the Lord to confirm his calling to parish ministry. He is working as a landscaper, French horn teacher, and development officer for Ryle Seminary. Jonathan is married to his lovely wife Renée and, together they are blessed with a son.


JENNY MURRAY - Administrator

Jenny is a born and raised Ottawian and currently enjoys living in the downtown core. She graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science and continues to enjoy studying creation on her own time. She actively pursues an outdoor lifestyle by walking, biking and hiking whenever she can and is always down for a wilderness adventure.

Jenny is involved with the MoveIn team in Lowertown, Ottawa, living among the unreached urban poor and prayerfully seeking to do life alongside them.
