8amQuiet and contemplative service; which uses a slightly modified version of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. This is a service of Holy Communion with a brief sermon, reflecting the mature spirituality and wisdom of the English Reformation.

10am – This is a lively, interactive service; that combines contemporary and convergent music and language. The liturgy is a blend of the Book of Common Prayer and modern liturgy, both using contemporary English. The music is a mix of contemporary worship with the praise band and traditional hymns with the piano. Sunday School and Nursery are available at this service.

Entrance #1 – Besserer Street
At any time before or during the services, you can enter by the theatre’s side entrance, a small door on Besserer Street. This leads straight into the auditorium where the services take place.  When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by members of our church family and they can direct you to our place of worship, the washrooms or the nursery.

Parking – The parking garage next to the Ottawa Little Theatre is being managed by a new company. We need to negotiate a new parking arrangement with the new company. Note that this means our parking passes are no longer valid. We have begun conversations with the new management group. Please pray! Unfortunately, the earliest that we will have a new arrangement is Jan. 20. We will keep you informed. Please pray! In the meantime, here are some suggestions. If you park in the lot behind the Theatre, we will pay for your parking if you ask ($5). You can also park a block away at the Loblaws. If you make a small purchase, you get 2 hours of free parking. There is also lots of parking available on the road - parking is free on Sundays.

Accessibility – To avoid stairs, please use the theatre’s side entrance, on Besserer Street.  The washrooms, worship, nursery, Sunday School and after-service fellowship areas are fully accessible.

What to wear – Often newcomers and first-time visitors are not sure what to wear to church. We want you to dress in a manner that is comfortable for you. You will see a range of styles at Messiah from casual, to moderately dressy to business-style.

Entrance #2 – King Edward Avenue (only available for 10am service) From approximately 9:40am – 10:10am, you can enter by the main theatre entrance on King Edward Avenue. If you find this door locked, please enter through the Besserer Street side entrance.  When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by members of our church family and they can direct you to our place of worship, the washrooms or the nursery.

Children – Infants under the age of 2 can be cared for in the nursery which is located in the theatre side lobby area. Children aged 2 and over join their parents for worship and follow the cross (during the third worship song) to the lobby area for Sunday School. Our Sunday School programs use a wide variety of materials, from the Desiring God curriculum to original lessons created by our teachers. We have a great balance of learning from the Bible, singing, and arts and crafts. The kids are divided by age into small groups, from toddlers through to age ten. We would love it if your kids could join us as we learn about and celebrate God together! Nursery and Sunday School are offered at the 10am service only.

After-service fellowship – After the 10am service is finished we gather together in the theatre lobby for coffee, tea and snacks. This is a great opportunity to connect with folks at Messiah.  Please join us!
