Worship Team

The Worship Team at Church of the Messiah leads the congregation in worship at the 10:00am Service through a blend of traditional and contemporary Christian music. They play everything from the most modern worship songs to hymns from 16th century.

The team is always interested in more musicians and vocalists!  There are no formal auditions, but you would be asked to attend several worship practices to ensure your musical abilities are compatible with the rest of the team.

The worship team practices every week.  The level of commitment is flexible.  You can commit to play / sing every other week or once a month.  It’s up to you.

The worship team functions in the context of Anglican liturgy, which means worship of God through song is always accompanied by prayer, scripture, and fellowship with believers. The worship team is an essential aspect of Church of the Messiah, but never the primary focus.

Church of the Messiah’s Choir is a volunteer ministry that seeks to glorify God through leading the congregation in hymns and singing special choral pieces, especially during Christmas and Easter.

If you’re interested in joining the choir, call 613.235.0596 or email info@messiahchurch.ca.  There are no formal try-outs for choir, but it’s important to have the ability to sing in tune and, ideally, to read music.

The choir practices as needed.  On occasion the choir leads the congregation in singing traditional hymns and sings a choral presentation.  Extra practices may be required to prepare for special holiday performances.
